Freestyle Slalom ________________________video sample

The performance
The competitor will perform a 1minute30second run (time starting at the first cone) over the 3 lines of slalom, 20 cones each, 50cm-80cm-120cm. The performance will be achieved with music, which the competitors will provide on tape or CD before his run.
All the competitors will perform a first run, then they will perform the second one. Some extra training time can be proposed.

The competitor has 2 runs, the best mark is kept. 4 different marks are composing the mark of the run :
Technique = how difficult the tricks presented are, how difficult the changes between tricks are.
Penalties
are taken into account for each cone down, and for each fall.
Style = how the tricks achieved are, how are the changes achieved, and a bonus is given for special tricks which are not properly slalom, but make the run nicer such as a block on heel wheels.
Management = variety of tricks (forward, backward, one foot, 2 feet, eagle …), respect of the music rhythm, changes of rhythm.

The Ranking
The global mark of each run is calculated by summing each component (technique, style, management). Each competitor has 2 marks (one for each run), the best mark is kept. Then the ranking of the competition


The Qualifications to the Championship
2 rankings have to be presented : Men & Women. The competition might have more or fewer categories, then the 2 rankings for IFSA are calculated by summing or splitting the former categories of the competition. The ranking used for qualification is not taking into account the competitors already qualified in former qualification competition.
Among these 2 rankings, competitors are qualified for the IFSA finale - World Championship :
Freestyle Slalom : 8 men & 5 women
Speed Slalom : 8 men & 5 women
Free Jump : 5 men & 3 women

The IFSA Cup
2 rankings have to be presented : Men & Women. The national competition might have more or fewer categories, then the 2 rankings for IFSA are calculated by summing or splitting the former categories of the competition. The ranking takes everyone into account.
The winner gets 20 points, the second 19 points, the third 18 points, the fourth 17 points, the fifth 16 point, ... the 20th gets 1 point and the following competitors don't get any point for the IFSA Cup. At the end of the season, the 3 best results of each competitor will be summed up for the IFSA Cup Ranking.
If 2 competitors tie for the same ranking, they will be separated using their 3 performance marks.
